Last Call for Papers

“GASCom 2024” will take place in Bordeaux on June 24-28, 2024. It will be the 13-th edition of the Conference.

The very first edition took place in Bordeaux on January 18 – 19, 1994, organized jointly with “Polyominoes and Tilings” held in Toulouse on January 20 – 21, 1994. – TCS 159 (1996) 1-2.

The second “GASCom” took place in Caen, still jointly with “Polyominoes and Tilings”, under the name “Journées d’hiver à Caen”, on January 30 – February 1, 1997. “Elles font suite à une première semaine qui se partagea entre Bordeaux et Toulouse en janvier 1994, et c’est l’importance de l’auditoire commun à ces deux conferences qui encouragea les organisateurs à renouveler l’expérience. Le lecteur de cet ouvrage pourra apprécier la validité de ce choix.” - TCS 218 (1999) 217-218.

In 2024, GASCom will return to its origins, as it was the Bordeaux School of Combinatorics that planted the seeds for these conferences, recalling that the bond between the two subjects remains as strong as ever.

As a consequence the list (not exhaustive) of the Conference topics is:
  • Random and exhaustive generation of combinatorial objects
  • Tilings, polyominoes
  • Bijective, enumerative,  algebraic  combinatorics
  • Algorithmic aspects: analysis of algorithms, probabilistic algorithms
  • Interactions: bio-informatics, combinatorics on words, number theory

Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract of 4 – 6 pages before March 11, 2024.

The privileged format is a pdf file produced with  the standard LaTeX2e class article.cls.

Proceedings

Accepted extended abstracts will be collected in the Conference Proceedings. Unfortunately, the previously selected journal changed its policies and required an unreasonable amount per submitted paper, so that we are looking for an alternate solution.

Special Issue

An open call for contributions will follow the Conference, and selected papers will be published as a special issue of RAIRO - Theoretical Informatics and Applications.

Important dates
  • Submission of Papers: March 11, 2024
  • Notification of Acceptance: April 15, 2024
  • Final Version Due: May 21, 2024
  • Conference: June 24-28, 2024
